Breeders
While the excitement of bringing a pug in to your family can easily cause an impulse decision to go to a pet store or just take a quick scan through your local classifieds, we strongly encourage you to research local breeders extensively.
This page lists local Pug Breeder Chapters in the USA (we're hoping to expand this to other countries soon). The Pug Dog Club of America has a wealth of information on their site including a list of approved & verified breeders. We are strongly against the large puppy mill operations that have popped up over the years and urge you to not be involved in these operations by purchasing a puppy from them.
Even better than purchasing a new pug puppy is to rescue one. Literally thousands of pugs each year are dropped off at shelters or just completely abandoned. You can do your part and help save one of these pugs. Be sure to check out our shelters list to find a pug shelter in your area.
