Poor Rosie, She's diggin to China on her face. Man! I hate it when this happens. So far I've given her Benedryl, Prediazone, and been doctorin the Ouchies she's dug into her face. She is starting to stop the scratchin, so much. Just have to wait for it all to kick in. Poor Little girl. This is the worst she has had this for some time. I would have expected this in the spring, BUT NOW? It hasn't gone into her ears this time. Thank Goodness. Can't figure out what has changed over the last week to set it off.

Poor little Rosie! We are keeping our paws crossed that her medicine will take over soon and she will be back to the business of being a pug! And bugging the heck out of her mom! LOL

I know you said you had cold weather and snow, maybe having to run the heat more due to the cold made her skin get dry? When their skin gets dry.....they scratch, and scratch, and scratch....and then they end up on Benadryl and prednisone!

I have no idea. She's just been a diggin at her face and made it bleed. Your right is could be the heat. I just hate it when she has this problem. Not fun for her. Momma Kat is giving lots of TLC though.

oh, poor baby china rose...it's so hard when you know that they are uncomfortable. i know she's in good hands though. momma kat is taking excellant care of her and she will be all better real soon. give her a gentle kiss for me, please.
it could be the dry air from the heat and then the cold air makes it all chapped. are you able to put some kind of ointment on it to help it heal or does just keeping it clean do the trick?

Carol, Yes, It's looking alot better, and she isn't scratchin so much now. I just hate it though. I am so glad it didn't affect her ears this time. We usually spend alot of time each week cleaning the ears, and washing her face. She puts it in everything, inside and outside.
I 'd like to make her my bubble kid!

Poor Carol, I'm so sorry your not feeling well. I've been pretty lucky this winter. Havn't gotten sick at all, but my son Jesse the carbondale kid came home for xmas and after the first day he came down with nomonia. I hate bad colds. I wish I lived close carol. I'd bring ya some chicken soap. And I'd doctor ya hon.
All I can offer is cuddle up with the puggers. Rose and Mikey are your best help with the chils. You poor girl. Get well soon.

Poor Carol, do what I do give those puggers a big hug and when they lick you in the face that works almost as well as a bowl of soup! Okay, here is how we shake a cold around here; get in the bed with the pugs, while in the bed consume a bowl of hot soup, then as soon as you finish the soup cover up and sweat off that nasty cold.
katB I am so glad to here China Rose is feeling better, after all she has the sweetest pug mom on the planet!

Thanks Mom2pugs. That was sweet. Her face looks alot better too. I think I figured out what it was that set her itches off. I went and bought treats last week. You know the cookie run. One of the ones I got was a new kind and it had wheat and corn in it. I should have looked closer at the ingred. Also, Gary had put out corn for the squirrels, (which I asked him not to do anymore) as Rosie goes out and eats it off the ground. So I am thinkin maybe that is what did it. She is not scratchin anymore. And I had to put itch stop and neosporin on her face. It's lookin really good.

Has she always had problems with itching? Pugsy is the same way and we are just now trying a no corn or wheat diet to see if it helps. The benadryl doesn't seem to help and the pred has so many bad side effects

tugboat, Yes since about 1 and half yrs. Mostly in the ears, Her allergy's seem to be more with corn. She was doing really well as I said above til husband put corn in a feeder trying to get rid of it. It's gone now out of the yard for good. She is doing much better. And got rid of those treats that I had. Looking for that prefect food. LOL!
