Pugly used to cry in the car even if the windows were up! She got used to car rides and doesn't cry anymore.

Pugs eyes get dirt in them. You have to keep them clean. May I suggest going to the eye care section in walmart and buying Genteal eye drops. It is safe for dogs. Or some pet stores carry eye cleanser for dogs. Some pugs do have alot of tear flow. BUT! If this continues I would let your Vet know about it and let them look at it. There are infections that they can get. They also will check to make sure there are no scratches. You must remember this is one part of the pug you have to be careful about protecting. I would not use Baby wipes to wipe his eyes. Some of them have oils and alcahol in them. Could be irritating them. If nothing else just a wet wash cloth.

kat is right, i would get it checked by your vet just to make sure he didn't scratch his eyes. pugs are known to have eyes that take over a good portion of their body (see... http://www.pugspot.com/community/topic/1192/funny-pug-anatomy
) but seriously... does he have any discharge or is he rubbing his eyes? he might have allergies that irritate them at times. wiping them with a clean cloth would help. like kat said, baby wipes might do more harm than good. -

Also, just wanted to pass on some advice that I got from my Jap. chin friends and I tryed this and OMG, did it ever work. Jiminy was having a problem with tear stains. A couple of chin friends told me to sprinkle about a tsp of buttermilk powder, you get this at the groc.store. Sprinkle that onto their food. Don't ask me what or why, but with in a week of doing this, Jiminy's fur around his eyes was once again clear and clean. All white again. I know some people have a problem with staining around the eyes. Just thought I'd share this tip.
