Hello everyone, I am a newbie here. I found this site because I am looking for some help with my pug. She is three years old.
She always loves to eat but these past 2 days, she is not eating her food. I am guessing... just guessing that she has a cold because her nose is dry and she snorts like she wants to release something from her nose. I have to force her to eat the kibbles one at a time, unless I do that, she would not eat. She vomitted this evening, it is a very small amount, but think it has some mucus or phlegm but I'm really not sure. It's not green or anything but it's a bit like phlegm.
I did not change her food. We just had her mated last week - Thursday and Saturday when the vet told us that Thursday that it is the best time for her to be bred.
Is this normal? Please help. Thanks!

Morgan my pug, when I put food in her bowl she doesnt eat it, but later on in the day, while im eating dinner she eats it. But she usually begs and whines for a treat. Maybe if you try putting treats in her bowl along with her food she might eat it.
This is just a suggestion, i hope it works!

hi tinypadfoot, welcome to pugspot...i'm thinking it might be time for a vet visit. how is she acting? if she is not herself, tail is uncurled, sleeping more that usual, having trouble breathing, i would definitely get her checked. she might be pregnant, i don't know cause i never bred my pugs but i'm sure that could be a possibilty. if something is wrong and she is vomiting, forcing her to eat is not the answer. make sure she is getting plenty of water so she doesn't dehydrate. good luck and let us know how she is.

I just hate it when my dogs don't want to eat - always worry because they are such healthy eaters. She should be checked - but it almost sounds like morning sickness in humans! Hopefully that is what is is.

This pug needs to be seen by a vet. And it is just my opinion, if this little girl is sick, I would pass on the breeding for now, to insure a healthy pregnancy and healthy litter of pups. Hope your pugger gets a good report from the Vet and feels better soon. Keep us posted.

If My pugger dont eat i used to buy them hotdogs for a change and i used to give them ascorbic acid for their vitamins.... and if they have colds or cough i give them ice cube for them to lick it ... and its works....

I'm sorry I was only able to go online right now. I brought Ashley to the vet and it turns out that it wasn't vomit that I saw, it was a discharge... and that's what was causing her to lose the appetite. There is still hope that the pups would be alive but we have to wait another 1-2 weeks to take her for an ultrasound test.
The vet gave us some prescription meds and vitamins for the hopefully healthy pups inside her tummy. Her appetite is much better now. Thank you all for posting your comments, I really appreciate it.
