Charka has started chasng his tail when he gets excited. Its very cute, but is it normal? I'm a little worried that he might be losing it

Don't worry kbailey! Its completely normal! Puck chases his tail all the time. He does it when he gets overstimulated or really excited, when he doesn't know what trick I'm asking him to do, or when I'm not paying enough attention to him. lol Its super cute. He does it on the couch sometimes and ends up spinning himself off and on to the floor! :D They are such funny dogs! Charka is just showing her clown side :D

Some pugs do chase there tails some dont but it is Normal....My Vogue chases her tail all the time...its for attention...she chases it untill she falls over and is completely puffed-out and gasping for air.
Pugs are show offs & everything catches there eye they have to pick-up,take,grab or get to anything they see or find interesting which is EVERYTHING lol so by them chasing there tails its a game & by getting ur attention by you laughing at him he's in his glory

mikey spins also. he spins whenever food is involved or when we understand what he wants...like he will sit and stare at you and if you ask him if he wants to go out, he will spin as if he is saying "yes, you understand me!". just make sure he is not chasing his tail because he is uncomfortable. if he is scooting on his bum also, then it might mean that his anal glands have to be expressed.

Pugsley does this too. He and my husband have a love/hate relationship. When my husband comes home from work, pugsley runs to him and jumps on his "bad knee". My husband picks him up, tells him how much he bothers him and gives him a tap on the butt. When he puts him down he proceeds to spin about 4-5 times. Its become a ritual.

Bella does this too. But she only does it when you mess with her tail but she is so fat (Sorry Bella but you are!) she can't reach her tail!

Frankie does it also....he does it to amuse himself....they looks at us...as if to say "fine you not going to play with me I make my own fun!" it is so funny....for him its a attention thing....like we could ignore him! he is very depanding about his attention. When he wants petting or scratches he will push his head under my hand....if I don't he will chase his tail to get my attention!

Haha, my little Zeus has just recently started the tail chasing game too, it is too funny-he was barking and growling and chasing his tail all at the same time...I laughed so hard I thought I might pee myself! They are the most hilarious little dogs in the worls, and I for one LOVE it! Haha

~ Zuji is definitely a tail-chaser!

Several times each day, especially when excited during play-time with me.
