Hi everyone, sorry I have not been on lately. Lots has been goin on around our house. About two weeks ago, I started to notice China rose having discharge from both of her eyes. At first I thought allergies. So I added drops to her eyes to flush them. But it seemed to get more heavy. I looked at her eyes and just thought, something doesn't look right. So I looked at her eyes in really bright light and noticed that both eyes were cloudy and her right eye seemed to be half shadowed by black, over the brown part, with blood red on the outer side. This of course scared the crap out of my husband and I. So It was off to the vet. Test were done and our Vet told us that Rosie has pannus(chronic superficial keratitis). It is a non-painful, inflammatory disease of the cornea, conjunctiva, and sometimes the third eyelids. It can cause blindness. I am really really worried. She is not in any pain we are sure. We are hitting this disease with heavey steroid drops and tacrolimus ointment, in hopes of getting it under control. Really need some on going prayers where. I am so scared.

Oh my goodness! Poor Rose! I am sure you will get it cleared up - it is so important to get things looked at when they are first noticed to give the best chance of healing. Sending hugs and healing thoughts to you and China Rose.......

Thanks everyone, Sure hope the meds work. She is still seeing fine, so hoping we did in fact catch this in time and that it doesn't turn bad. We love our girl. She is being really good about letting me put the Meds in her eyes. She is a little trooper for sure. She is enjoying all the attention for sure. One would think she has never had any. Little stink! It is bath time today, so she will get even more attention. Have to take her back in on Monday morning so Dr. can check and see. So cross your fingers it is working. Her eyes don't look as cloudy as they were, but it's only been a short time. Will keep you all posted. Thanks again everyone.

Thanks, Rosie and I went to see Dr. Paul on today. And it looks really really good. The cloudiness is really going away, and you could see the whites around the eye. It was so bright and pretty. Had noticed when I took her in the first time it was dark and blood shot. Looks great. Dr. Paul says good thing I noticed and got her in, he thinks we caught it in early stage and wants us to continue with her meds until meds are gone and then call him and let him see her again. If all goes well til then? He said we would then cut back and work on our plan of action to maintain her eyes. I am so relieved, I can't tell you. Rosie also had a tiny skin tag on her back right leg and that got sniped off. OUCH! She is doin fine.
