Hi, i wondered if anybody had any advice i have a 3 year old female fawn pug called Jelly bean, i love her to bits and to me shes my little baby. She is generally a good little girl, she never ever has any accidents in the house, gets on well with our 2 spinone and loves my little nephew who pulls her around no end and his first words were baba while pointing at her. She is not an agressive little girl at all and on walks loves other dogs my problem is her barking, it happens when out and a dog is far away, if i take her to shows, fetes or training shes as quiet as a mouse, never making a sound at another dog but when we are walking in the country and she sees a dog from a far she barks sometimes crys abit too, then she will get all excited and want to say hello. I know this is definately not aggression as once we go over to the dog she has never shown any signs and will always wag her tail and sniff, i just do not like the barking from a far as it looks like she is aggressive to people who do not know her, ive tried distracting her with treats until we get closer to the dog and this works unless i do not see it first. The thing is i would quite like to start a family and have a baby and she cannot have my attention all the time if i have a baby and need to walk her. Any suggestions would be helpful to me! Thank you x

Beankins, Carry a water squirt bottle set on stream. Squirt her everytime she does this. And use a command like Leave it, or Quit! Or Turn and go the other way everytime she starts this act. When she doesn't do it, then reward her by letting her go sniff the other dog. If she starts the behavor again, turn and go the other way. Hope this helps.
