I've been wondering if dogs have a hard time getting used to new situations as much as people do (or I do). We're going to move to another city this fall, new places, new apartment, new neighbors... Do dogs tend to get anxious the first few days? Has anyone been through something similar? And if so what can I do to avoid my dog getting nervous about all these changes? On top of that we're also flying this summer to see my family who he has never met, and they have another dog. I feel like its so many things at the same time! Even though Loopy isn't a nervous dog at all and he's used to people and other animals. I take him everywhere he's allowed to go...

Hi Marta, When it gets to moving time, I would make up a suit case just for your puggy. Have his bowls, food, toys, blankets, beds, etc. All in one place ready to put down in the new home. He may become nervous, but make sure you are there to help him along. Take him for walks around your new home area. Make it all fun. Happy Happy. Your first nights mit be alittle uncomfortable for him, but if your near, he will settle in. He really only cares about you in his world. It will be fine. There are some things you can give to your pugger to help with the trip to help keep him calm. Ask your Vet about them. It can help. Also remember to keep yourself calm if possible, as he picks up on it. When you take him to meet your family, keep him on lead, and have them take there dog for a walk with you and your pug outside, then take them inside. Watch toys as if the dogs have them, and your pugger picks one up it could cause a problem, and watch feeding time. I would take your pugger to another room and shut the door so he can eat in quiet. It will be fine.

Hello! Thank you so much for the advice! This is something completely new for me and I don't Loopy to have a bad experience. I will definitely do that. Going for a walk with Loopy and my family's dog sounds like a great idea I had also thought about that. The other one is a big dog and he's very dominant but since Loopy is more on the submissive side I don't think they will have problems but I will definitely supervise them.
