Missing Tankster

This is a bit of a long story. Last summer right before the 4th of July weekend Tankster got into a fight with my service dog who is a Rottweiler named Vermin. I have him because I have seizures from Systemic Lupus which I've had diagnosed for a bit over 16 years now. The fight damaged Tankster's eye which had to be removed before infection set in! It was an urgent surgery that he needed and it would cost $600! If my hubby was working we'd have paid for that surgery with NO problem at all! Unfortunately because of the slowed economy my hubby had been laid off for quite awhile! His boss promised to give his job back to him and he was waiting for that to happen. But because we couldn't afford Tankster's surgery we called the Humane Society here to see if they could help us out in any way at all! They said they would just put him to sleep! We could NOT let that happen to him. He was only about 6 years old at that time! I thought it was 5 but my husband corrected me on that. I have to go into his profile here and change that information about him. The Humane Society referred us to The Colorado Pug Rescue Organization! I called them and the girl there told me they had over 80 pugs waiting for placement and they couldn't take Tankster right then! He needed that surgery and that's all that was on my mind at that time. She said she'd talk to the woman in charge (Viki) and have her call me. She did call me and she told me during that phone call that we could call to check up on Tankster ANY TIME WE WANTED TO! Because I told here he'd never known another family but us! He meant SO MUCH to us that we couldn't just let him go ANYWHERE! She said that they checked out the future owners very carefully and even did home visits first. She also said he'd get his surgery that he needed and then he'd be placed in a foster home with five other pugs. They came to pick him up and when they did Viki placed a $1 bill in my hand while we were crying (hubby and I) and holding Tankster. I told her that I couldn't accept the dollar and I put it back into her hand and told her to consider it a donation! We went into the house because we couldn't get the crying under control. I had written down everything I could think of about the things that Tankster enjoyed and everything we knew about Tankster! I handed her the pages before going into the house. We couldn't even watch him drive away. She took TWO of my calls and then wouldn't take my calls anymore. There was no disagreement or anything. She'd told me in the 2nd call to watch the adoption pages. In a couple days Tankster would be listed on their site for adoption. I watched and he was never there! So I called her again. That was when she didn't take my calls. I tired emailing and she didn't answer those either. I joined their facebook page and told them all that we were trying to get any information we could about Tankster. The gentlemen on their list named George Lang told me that he remember a pug from last summer who was at the Pugs In The Park gathering in Denver. He was missing one eye and if it was the same dog he was SOLD at that event!!! OMG we PANICKED!!! That is NOT what we call checking the future owners and homes out at all!!! We had NOT agreed to him being SOLD at that event or any other event!!! A gal in their group said we should have read the paperwork before we signed it!!! As the Lord is my witness neither of us signed ANYTHING!! We were crying too hard to read or sign anything at all!!! We've been actively searching for him on Facebook, In the newspapers and everywhere else we can possibly think of! We've joined the pug groups that I've found on the internet trying to find him as well! I got myself booted out of the CO Pug Rescue group when I spoke out and said that we felt like we'd been taken advantage of by the promises that Viki made because she'd lied to us! They thought I'd bashed their whole organization when I said that. I was angry ONLY with Viki! She is the person who lied to us and she is the one who wouldn't take my calls. Before I posted the post about her she put her email address into the group and told me to write to her. I wrote over and over and over again and got no answer AGAIN! I wrote into the group to ask her if she'd made an error in the email addie because I wasn't getting an answer? She didn't answer that post! That really angered/hurt us so that's when I posted what I thought about what she'd done to us! That's when they decided I was bashing their group! I was NOT bashing their group! I even named her by NAME! Obviously I'm NOT slandering her because everything I've written is the truth! They can only sue me for slander if I'm not telling the truth. What I DID say about her in their group was this: As long as Viki is in charge of their group I can not consciously recommend the organization and I would never trust them with another pet of MINE! and I stated that I was speaking out about the ARVADA COLORADO BRANCH of their organization and NOT the whole organization! They didn't see it that way and they booted me out! Now I can follow the posts but I can't write into them at all on their facebook group. But I wanted them to understand how we felt and WHY we were searching so hard for Tankster! We are not the types of people who can just turn our backs on a family member if they become an inconvenience or what others' may think is an inconvenience! We just can't do that! We will search for Tankster for AS LONG AS IT TAKES TO FIND HIM! We love him and are worried sick about him. That's just who we are and how we are! So yes Tankster is missing but part of this is our fault! We trusted the wrong people with him! I've checked and rechecked the Colorado Pug Rescue's adoption page at LEAST twice a week looking for his photo and it's never been there! If he passed away from infection from his surgery because he was exposed to all those other pugs? Then maybe she didn't want to tell us the truth about him. If she sold him? Maybe she doesn't want to tell us the truth about that? I don't know or understand what she's thinking because she WON'T speak with me! IF she thinks she's making it easier for us to let go of him she's VERY wrong about that! She's making it HARDER for us because we are worrying so much about him! We don't have children. Tankster was a child to us and IS a child to us. THAT is who we are! But I'm trying to get his story out to every pug owner I can find so they can look for him and help us find him. If he's in a good home I will NOT try to take him away from them. I just want to keep in touch and know how he's doing. That's all we want. If they EVER can't keep him we want to tell them to please bring him back home to us. We are even willing to BUY him from them if we have to! We just don't want them to send him back to that foster home! He should be back home with us where he belongs. He even used to sleep on my hubby's chest! When my hubby has to go to bed without him he STILL cries! We miss him TERRIBLY! Thanks so much for reading this. ttys, KatS
