Possible Kennel Cough..

Off to the Vets on Thursday.. Lewie has been up the past 3 night with the worst cough, I thought it was because of his bronchitus and the temperature dropping but something is telling me its not concidering I have been keepin the heating on for him so it shouldnt effect him. Anyways, my neighbour rang me today to say she could hear him coughing when out in her garden (My kitchen window was open) - I honestly thought it was only thoughout the night that he was suffering but obviously not. Called the vets, said they have had alot of Kennel cough dogs in lately and could be possible that he has now caught this virus... Poor bugger, he does seem to pick up everything!
Anywho, wish me luck for thursday! Will keep you all updated x

After going through what we did with my Gretta, I'm very scared of any upper respiratory issues. We wish you both the best and will be praying for a speedy recovery. Doc and his girls

Thanks guys, really appreciate it. strangley he went through the night fine last night. Had a bit of a cough this morning when I took him out for a walk but not sure if it was because I had woken him up and he was still half a sleep - Plus it was quite chilly out.. Still going to go to the vet tomo tho as im supposed to be away next weekend and hes staying at my dads and I wouldnt forgive myself if he fell ill while I was away. So keep those fingers and paws crossed x

My pugs all got kennel cough a couple of years ago (the 3 we had at the time) and it was pretty scary! I gave them stuff like pedialyte and even chicken and rice soup. I called my vet numerous times but they eventually got over it. Peyton had a cough last week so he got some chicken and rice soup for 3 days and he was better in no time!

Of course, check with your vet. Chicken soup always makes me feel better when I sick so I asked my vet and she said it wouldn't hurt and they love it!

Hey Guys, went to the vets last night. Vet really isnt sure what it could be as so many possiblitys by his symptoms. Hes given him a course of tablets for possible Kennel cough and he also gave him an anti boitic to clear any infection he may have. His lungs sound wheezy, he couldnt quite hear lewies heart as he kept coughing and snorting. The Injection completely knocked him out until 2am and from then he kept wondering around aimlessly really confused. He wouldnt eat last night but managed to get him to eat this morning and left him sound a sleep in bed when I went to work. No coughing tho since the vets so hoping this injection has done the trick! Night of pampering for him tonight! x
