Hello -
I am not sure if anyone remembers me - but most all of you helped me through a very difficult time in my life. My little girl, Daisy was diagnosed with a Liver Shunt - and I began a thread about her journey - each one of you took a lot of time to follow my story and offer a ton of advice and support through her entire battle - even after she lost her battle and past away almost a year ago (in August). This group was the most supportive place for me to turn when I needed people - each day I would come here and really developed connections with other pug lovers - you all were my true support system - however, then I began having computer issues - with the site and for whatever reason I began having difficulties posting on Daisy's thread after all of that - I wish I could get in there and print those pages out to keep them - just because of all of the support you gave to me - it was truly amazing and I wish I had that with me today. I cannot thank everyone enough for all that you did for Daisy and I back then - I cannot believe I am coming up on a full year since she left us - it still breaks my heart each day - she was so special to us.
Below is a story of a Pug Mix that is in trouble. I want to post it here, because I know the wonderful people who are on here will be able to share this with others they know and perhaps we can get this girl pulled and safe. I appreciate all of the wonderful things you do for your furbabies!
I am writing in hopes to just spread the word about a pug mix name Peaches. She happens to be in a high kill shelter and she has been there awhile. I found her picture on the facebook page - Celebrating Pugs - this is where you can find more information.
I have emailed a ton of rescues, transport services and people in hopes that the word will be spread and someone will be able to help get her out of there and to safe and secure rescue - where she will have a chance at survival and finding a home. I am hoping others will do the same - even if we email the same places - perhaps they will realize people are pulling for her.
She is a senior pug mix, they say she is very quiet and well mannered and just looking for a place to rest, relax and be shown what love and care is.
I emailed someone regarding her statues - hoping that she had been pulled and I was told that her owners never came looking for her and there had been absolutely NO phone calls on her behalf - no rescues had even inquired about pulling her.
I was then told that they were extremely worried about her safety at that point. She does not have much time left, if any at all- I am hoping that she is still there and her time has not expired. There is just something special about her and I hope that someone will get the word out and it will fall into the hands of the right person. I pray this happens for her.
She is located in Daviess County Animal Control - Owensboro, Kentucky.
I would love nothing more than to go and get her myself - however, my auto immune condition is progressing to a point that I am unable to do even the smallest of things - and I just found out it is attacking my heart (this is not reversible - only controlled by medications and every so often the meds stop working and the dose has to be altered). I am unable to drive myself and my husband has to do most all of the work - outside the home and inside the home, as well as handle our 4 pugs that we have. I pray that one day I begin to get better, but until then - I am under Dr. care. I am doing all I can in order to help get her free from the high kill shelter and hoping that a rescue can take her in.
I thank everyone for listening to this and hope that everyone will look up Peaches and share her story! I tried to post her information below - however, her photo does not appear to me below - if you look on FB - Celebrating Pugs her picture is there for sure - I hope that we can share and help get her out of there - thank you everyone! I think everyone on PugSpot is AMAZING! Pug Hugs to all!

First I pray for your renewed health it must be very frustrating and frightening. But I totally believe He hears our prayers. I get so many posts from Mid Atlantic Pug Rescue on Facebook and am trying to remember Peaches. It' so hard to imagine that pugs need rescue and especially that no one would inquire on one's behalf. I even read of one found as a stray wondering on the street and she was blind! Hurt my heart. Do hope that she is rescued along with the many....

I'm an MAPR volunteer and we're so overloaded that we're having to try to ship Pugs and mixes to other rescues. Post about her on the MAPR page and see what happens. Also, please contact Kentuckiana Pug Rescue or Ohio Pug Rescue. They will have volunteers in the more immediate area and I don't believe they're having the current overload that we are. With this heat and the storms, I think all rescues are a wee bit overloaded, but...seriously. We must have gotten 30 surrenders last week alone. It's a little nuts. I think that Peaches best chance will be with Kentuckiana, or possible the Pug Rescue Network.
