Pug suddenly started humping everyone

I went away for the weekend and my Mum took the responsibility of pug-sitting for me. And a couple of hours after I'd dropped Boone off at her house, I got a phone call to say he'd been humping her! And when I got home after my few days holiday my mum was telling me how Boone had been humping everyone all weekend!

He has never ever done this before to people. Never. He's two years old now, and I'm wondering if it isn't a coincidence that this has happeneed whilst I've been away. Maybe it's an anxiety thing because he misses me?

Anyone else had a similar thing happen?

From what I've heard, this is a sign of a dog trying to show dominance. Sounds like he was just trying to tell everyone who was going to be the boss since Mum wasn't there to tell them herself! lol

First, is he neutured? If not think about having it done. Dominance? Yes, He was around new things and he probably wanted to clam them. HA! Did your mom have dogs?

Sounds like dominance....because my female does it too...to the cat. Poor 20lb fat cat just sits there with a look on his face like...."um, I don't speak dog??" Our neighbors must think we're really strange if the windows are open and they walk by because it's not uncommon for one of us to be shouting "Petunia no humping the kitty!!!"

No he isn't neutered. I asked my vet about this about six months ago and he said he wouldn't do it as he has such a good temperment and doesn't hump everything or have behavioural issues...and until now he'd only ever try hump other dogs whilst playing, so I'm a little confused now...

My mum has another dog, male but Boone has never tried mounting him. But Boone and myself used to live at my mums so it's like his ex-home. Since we got home a couple of days ago he hasn't tried humping at all. So maybe I should put it down to a dominance thing in a slightly newish environment and maybe anxiety because his mommy wasn't there? I've never left him overnight before...

He was probably telling everyone he was in charge! .lolol...sometimes when my three are running around playing one of them will start to do that...i just tell them to stop and they do...but i do believe its a dominance thing cos they are all spayed and neutered. good luck
