So very sad

I had a border collie for twenty-two years. Her name was Pepper because she was black with a white blaze and little white toes. She was always with me. Each day without her felt like the last or at least I wished it were. I quit talking to people about her because, let's face it, how much moaning can friends tolerate? A few months back, the church secretary asked if I was interested in getting another dog. No, I said, no one can replace my "Boo" (her nickname). The secretary said that that was too bad as this little dog was found wandering in the hills and had been in five foster homes and she'd have to go to the pound next. I asked what was wrong with her? Nothing, really, she was a sweet little dog but there just wasn't room for her. Well, I thought about it and then said that I'd get my husband and we would "just" go look at her. Well, you guessed it! We brought her home and then tried to figure out what kind of dog she was? I didn't want to get close to another dog and my husband wanted a big dog. But, we couldn't let her go to the pound. Charley fell in love with her first as she licked him to death and he loved it. I hate licking. Her antics were really funny and I'd catch myself laughing at her when she would run around the house, not just on the seats of the sofa, but around the backs like a lizard. She is small with a chihuhua face but with buglike eyes and a wrinkly forehead and jowls that sorta hang down! She has a way of looking at me. She has melted my heart. She is black with a white blaze and little white toes. She seems to know when I am thinking about Boo and comes and cuddles. She has a muscular body, very unlike a chihuahua, but exactly like a pug. She will lay down for a nap, but when she wakes up, she will call me and I am, of course, right there for her. We are so very lucky to have her. We are blessed and as we were holding her between us we just got the biggest kick out of her as she look from one of use to the other, just like a little princess with her court!!! I'll always be devoted to Boo, but little "Wee-Wee" never fails to bring sunshine and laughter into our days. L'eau

Oh, your border collie lived a long and well-loved life, you should be proud of having taken good care of her for so long. You should put up some photos of your new puppy, sounds like a pug-chi-chi cross.
