Total Potty Training Blues

Little Daisy still isnt toilet trained. When we take her out she goes sometimes but she doesnt ahow any signs of when she needs to or is going to go- this isn't practical because I can't keep her locked up. It's very hard to take her out every half hour but even taking her out every two hours she seems to keep it for when she gets inside. Please Please help!

First Off, How old is your puggy? Potty training takes time and lots of patence. If an accident happens in the house you must clean that spot with something like Natures miracle. This will take the smell away so puppy won't keep going back to it. I have always made a little sched. and stuck to it. First thing in the morning, then feed them, wait a 1/2 hour and back out. I always use a command like Go Potty while I am outside with my pug. Until they are trained I keep them on a leash so I am sure they are getting the idea. No play til the potty is done. I let them sniff the area in the grass where I want them to go, and calmly saying go potty. Walking them also helps work up a good potty. You have to give them time to sniff and find that purfect place. So don't be in a hurry. When they do a pee, say good job, and wait for a poop. Young puppy's poop more than a dog of about 6 mo. or older. Older about 2-3 times daily. Depending on a good diet of food. I always go with 1/2 hour til they get the idea and then go up til hour. I always tell people to remember, It is not the dogs fault if it pees in the house. It is yours for not taking them out. And do NOT expect a puppy to be fully house trained until about 6 mo. If your doing your part they will see the light bulb go off alot sooner. Don't let your pug have access to all the rooms in your house until they are doing a good job with going outside. Use a gate to close off a kitchen or bathroom til you see improvements. I really want to help you, so let me know more about what you have tried so far. Their are lots of folks on pugspot that will help too. Good luck.

She is still young. Tell me about you routine. From first up in the morning and until night? Maybe can see a better way. And what do you do when you leave her alone? Does she have the run of the house?
