I am sure some of the long timers have noticed that I have not been on pugspot as much over the past months. Reason??? Well, I'll tell ya. As some of you know I have some medical problems with my knees being really bad, and I have Lupus. It has been getting pretty painful. I am still walking, (slow) but sure. Stairs are really scary, and it hurts. My computer was located down stairs for some time now, and it was really hard for me to make it down the stairs. Going up and down was killin me.
Well, over the last month, my youngest son Tyler moved out into his own apartment. My middle son Jesse is still here, and decided to help me out and moved his bedroom downstairs. That freed up a small bedroom upstairs. And a larger one. So he helped me paint, and move stuff around. And I now have the most wonderful dog room, just for me and my fur kids. I have my computer desk and all my dog show stuff, pictures on the wall, dog show ribbons, Shelf, the works. I LOVE IT! And the puppies are loving it as well. They have a toy box in there, and drag them out all over the room. They love snuggling up around my feets when I am talking and playing on the computer. The chin boys now sleep in the room in there little crates. Rose of course sleeps with with my hubby and I. She does have a new crate in the room, that is only for her when she wants it. A friend gave it to me. It is a beautiful fancy hard wood crate and it's so nice. My friend had 2 of them and her dogs were chewing on one of them so she got rid of them. I got the unchewed one. HA! Rose does go in there for naps. My husband put two hooks in the ceiling on one side of the room, and tied fishing line to them. Like a clothes line. And I can hang Ludwigs show ribbons from it. It's pretty neat. I had to share with everyone, I am really pleased with the way it turned out. And proud of my guys for thinking of me, and helping me. I have wanted a dog room for E--VER! Hope you all don't mind the babble.

Your dog room sounds really nice and it is nice to see you back on here, I had been wondering what had become of you and was hoping all was well with you. Sorry to hear your having trouble walking, but at least you are still doing it. Was great they fixed up the room for you

Thanks Rita, back at you. Finally getting caught up on things with friends. I hate having this. I am so use to getting things done on my own. My legs are weak. I make myself do as much as possible, but at the end of the day, I have to get off of them. Doing the dog show thing, is working out pretty good. I take a chair ring side, sit, go in for about 5 mins., come out and walk back to grooming area, and sit. So It's not so bad on me. Have kennel friends that help me with my gear and stuff. Have been using a exercise bike to try and strengthen the muscles in my legs. Never give up.

That sounds so nice! Sorry to hear about your health problems, but it sounds like u have a great support system there. I hadd a little chuckle about rose. Of course she doesn't sleep in the crate- that's for dogs! We are having a cold winter here so my babies are permanently snuggled up with us. And I'm not complaining

Wow...your dog room sounds great! You and your babies worked hard for those ribbons and awards so good to display them. Our Sophia's little trophy for 1st place obedience is in the curio here in the dining room.
Hope your bike helps with your legs. Sounds like you are staying positive and wonderful that you have help with the shows. Will keep you in prayer....

Oh, KatB, it is so great to have your own space and things seem to be looking up. I also have real bad trouble with stairs due to the problems with my hips and lower back. We don't have stairs in our house (except to the basement where I never go) but, my daugher's house does - with the BR upstairs. If you can raise the cash (I think about $1,500 to 2,500) it might be well worth your while to have a chair lift put in on your stairs! They are so great, Kat. They fold up out of the way when not being used, eliminate all the pain from stair climbing, and can be "called" up or down with a remote controller. If you have a condition that is chronic, you will thank yourself every time you use it. In my daughter's house we call it "the bus". Probably where you are the chairlift might be less expensive too in US dollars. I know it sounds a lot, but is really worth it. With all your dog shows and so on, you are so busy, you don't need stair-climbing in your exercise regimin! Besides that, it is so great to see you back, hope you will post some photos soon!
Love, Jan and The Sass.

Going down the stairs seems to be more painful than going up, for some reason.

It's good hearing from you again KatB. I have trouble also with stairs and just walking. My knees are in terrible shape and need to be replaced. I already had scopes done on both knees and the surgeon said they could be replaced at any time I wanted but, I'm a BIG CHICKEN!!!!!! I've never been in a hospital over night other than in Vietnam, if you want to consider that a hospital. I can get them done for free at the VA(if I can ever get the chickeness out of my system). HA! Sounds like your son, and your fur babies, are all taking good care of you. I have my own room downstairs, with my desktop and sound equipment, along with video equipment, all at my disposal. It just takes awhile for me to get downstairs. Just be careful and we expect to hear from you more now

Thanks everyone. JanandSass, I was thinking of the stair left as well. My washing machine is down stairs. Going down the stairs IS the scary part. It is a long flight of stairs. I have been just sitting down at the top and sliding down on my butt. If you can picture that. HA! Gary and Jesse usually will take my laundry down for me, and they do their own. Coming back up isn't to bad. It hurts but I can hold on to the rail to steady myself. I have been told that I will need to have knees replaced, but they don't want me to do it yet. I try to do home therapy on my exercise bic and that helps a little to help keep them from locking up. Walking, I can do but depending on how long ends the day with lost of pain. I just HATE not being able to do things that I once did. I am a person who does my own thing. Having this room, sure makes things alittle easier, and I enjoy it so much. The doggies come and lay around the room, and play. We added a bigger toy bend HA!
