Will this finally wear him out?

Pugs in this photo: Puck Thomas

Our trainer said that if we put a backpack on Puck and then put 10% of his body weight in the backpack that it would double the amount of energy he spent on a walk. So a one hour walk would feel like a two hour walk to him. Lets hope it works!

Oh glory, that sounds like a lot!  (The one hour walk, I mean.)  Don't overdo it!  He's not exactly a big fattie like Sacha (and me!)   Ahhh, I would hate to tell you what 10% of my weight is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Seriously, I would take it off him if he shows signs of overheating!

Don't worry jdm- I would never over work him. He just has crazy amounts of energy (even my trainer said she'd never seen a pug with so much energy! lol) and if we don't go for a half hour to an hour long walk or go to the dog park at least every other day he gets miscievious and starts being naughty. Whenever he shows signs of being tired we stop and take a water break and rest. He carries his collapable water bowl on his leash and I always bring along a water bottle for us to share. Plus its only been in the 40s to 50s here lately. Its also very easy to take the backpack off and I normally take it off of him for the last leg of our walk , esp if I can tell he's getting tired. And 10% of his body weight is equal to a couple of clemintines
