About Me

Lola is 14 lbs of pure energy and attitude. She is my clown who keeps us entertained for hours with her antics, many times leaving us totally stunned at her latest escapade. Lola is a climber so it is a constant battle in this house to outwit her, she usually wins. I am still trying to figure out how she is managing to get on the kitchen counters when there is absolutely nothing close that she can climb on and she can't jump that far. She is a smart one and never even tries when anyone is around that might see her. One of her favorite things to do is run at full speed down the hall into the den and then drop and roll the entire length of the den, jump up and then run full speed back down the hall. She repeats this two or three times. Lola has been a very easy puppy, she rarely attempts to chew on anything except her toys and bones, she loves to go bye-bye, she is happy at home or at someone else's house to visit, she loves everything and everyone, she eats well, she sleeps well and her growth has been right on track according to the vet. She is not perfect, although she would beg to differ with that opinion, and we have had a couple of challenges. She has been slow to potty train and absolutely hates the crate. I bred English Bulldogs for a long time, so I am by no means new to taking care of and training puppies, crate training is always started at my house from day one, and until Lola came around I have never had a dog hate the crate to this degree for no reason that I can see. I have decided it is more an issue of her not being right on top of her people than it is of hating the crate. We are working on this and she is getting better. Since I use the crate for potty training I suspect her crate issue is also why she has been slower to potty train. She will get there, she is just doing it on her schedule and not mine. Lola is also the biggest Drama Queen I have ever ran across. Everything in her life is done on a big scale which only makes her more amusing to be around. Recently she has discovered tattling and runs to me when she thinks some grave injustice has been done to her, usually by Tucker or my 16yr old son. One of the things I love most about her is the one thing that drives many others crazy, she is vocal, very vocal. She is not a barker, but she will talk your ear off with a wide variety of sounds, grunts, groans and growls.

Eating Pulling the stuffing out of all toys Playing with Tucker the Chihuahua Sleeping Rolling across the den Hiding Mom's glasses More eating She loves getting her morning and evening "pill". She doesn't actually get a pill she just thinks she does. Tucker, our Chihuahua has seizures and takes Phenobarbital twice a day. I wrap the pill up in a small bite of cheese and she has learned to come to the kitchen with him when I call him to come take his pill so she also gets a bite of cheese. Now when she hears the word "pill" she runs and sits in front of the refrigerator. Talking-Lola is very vocal and expresses herself quite often
