About Me

Buhdi was the third and final rescue to join our pug pack. His story is pretty sad, he was terribly mistreated and pretty much everything I did that included a loud voice or quick movement scared him to death. Buhdi had been left in a very small travel kennel for long periods of time and I don't think he was always fed. I could tell he had been scolded about giving kisses because when I encouraged him to give me a kiss he would slink away looking awfully sad. Currently Buhdi is a very sweet pug. He loves attention and snuggles up at night a cat. We've had him for a little more than 6 years now and I'm proud to say he has come out of his shell and is a confident happy naughty pug (as he should be.) Now Buhdi gives great sloppy kisses, although sometimes he still does so very cautiously. Five years ago Buhdi and I started taking Rally Obedience classes and competed for a few years. In our first year competing Buhdi completed his Rally Novice title and 2/3rds of his Rally Advanced title. Also during that year Buhdi took and passed the Canine Good Citizen test. Much to my surprise Buhdi received a 24" ribbon and bronze medal in the mail, from the Pug Dog Club of America, indicating he ranked 4th in the nation for pugs in Rally Novice Obedience that year. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to attend the big breed show back east to receive our award. In his second year competing Buhdi easily completed his Rally Advanced title. It's been a while (3 years or so) since Buhdi and I have done any competing but I'm thinking of getting Buhdi back into it and going for his Rally Excellent title in 2010. Buhdi really enjoys Rally and has loads of fun going to shows and meeting all the different dogs.

Favorite Treats

If you eat it then he likes it. If he has a favorite I can't tell because he reacts the same way to every treat he receives; gobbling it up as fast as possible just in case another treat is coming his way.
